The Rising Stars Committee has been working creatively to continue to support Make-A-Wish despite the unique circumstances we’ve been facing with COVID19. We’re excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with local culinary talent to bring you Wish Dish: a 3-part video series where you can join us and learn to make delicious recipes from the comfort of your own home.
The first cooking class in the Wish Dish series is scheduled for Saturday, July 18 at 5pm and will be hosted by Colin Asuncion – Toronto baker and finalist on The Great Canadian Baking Show (CBC, Netflix Canada). Colin’s specialty is layered cakes and he loves to emulate his mother in the kitchen. Outside the kitchen, Colin is also a seasoned performer and theatre artist. He recently performed alongside July Black and Divine Brown at Koerner Hall (UnCovered, Musical Stage Company) and in the play Box 4901 at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. We’re so excited to have him host our first virtual cooking class!
As we navigate through these changing times, wishes related to travel and events have unfortunately had to be postponed. Although delayed, we are determined to ensure these wishes will come true once restrictions are lifted. In the meantime, we want to encourage the wish kids to stay positive and remind them that their wishes are coming. If you would like to participate in our campaign to uplift our Make-A-Wish kids, please follow us on social media and tag us in any messages of hope and encouragement using the hashtag #WishesAreWaiting and #MessagesOfHope. Donate now to support the Rising Stars Wish Dish series.
